Hugh Hefner Gives Away Invites to the Playboy Mansion

If you haven’t picked up the December issue of Playboy, I suggest you pick a copy stat. Hugh Hefner has decided to play a modern Willy Wonka and has hidden 10 Golden Tickets in the December issues.

Somewhere in the 200,000 magazines there are opportunities to win a trip to the illustrious Mansion in Los Angeles for the Midsummer Night’s Dream Party. It’s an annual event hosted by Hef himself. He generally picks the guest list and it includes many Hollywood stars and Playmates all scantily clad. The invite is considered the most coveted invite to the mansion each year.

This year they decided to host a promotion that would allow ten lucky readers the chance to attend the party. Think of it as the golden dreams ticket. Readers lucky enough to find a golden ticket in the pages of their magazine will be flown to LA, attend the party and be put up at the posh Petit Ermitage. They also have dinner at an upscale restaurant.

Playboy is no different than other publications. They, too, have suffered declining sales thanks in part to the internet. When their pages are graced with a starlet they usually sell more copies. The issue with Tara Reid sold more the 200,000 copies. Editorial Director Jimmy Jellinek is hopeful that this promotion will have the magazine flying off the shelves. “We expect people to be fighting in the streets for these copies.” He said.
