Think guns and girls don’t mix? Think again. According to recent statistics compiled by sporting clubs and the National Rifle Association, an increasing number of women are packing heat.

In 2009, The National Shooting Sports Foundation reported that gun-store owners saw a 73% increase in female customers while attendance at the NRA’s shooting clinic for women increased 20%. Polling research and gun sale statistics suggest that 15 million to 20 million American women own a firearm of some kind. Clearly, guns aren’t just for men anymore.
