Playboy founder Hugh Hefner says his magazine will be available for the iPad as soon as March, and it will be uncensored. Hefner posted on Twitter last night the “big news” that both new and archived issues of Playboy will be available.
Interestingly enough, Playboy magazine is already available for the iPhone, but it’s a censored version. Hefner claims that the magazine on iPad “will be uncensored.” Apple has historically not allowed pictures as explicit as a Playboy spread on the iPad, and has previously banned pictures of women in bikinis, warned against body parts in fashion spreads, banished bare-chested men from gay travel guides, and gotten rid of pictures of gay men kissing. So, news of an uncensored Playboy app might be not so accurate, unless Apple CEO Steve Jobs has changed his mind.
Tech blog Mashable speculates that Apple may be working on new measures that would keep minors away from explicit iPad apps, and if so, Playboy would be the first explicit app available.
And now, some SAFE for work pictures of the "girls next door," Hef’s ex girlfriends.
